Just need to keep one thing in mind, You don't live for the Marks
I've grown immune to "marks", regardless of high or low.. I only care for feedback
-tear- I try to do that.. but you know, Asian parents x:..

Unfortunately, some are, but as I am going through school I think I`ve been able to like change my parents`minds on the whole grade thing... they`ve been starting to understand that grades are not 100% that important because first of all, they believe that I should be getting good marks, so it`s no suprise if I get them anyways ;-;... They just think that if I start getting bad grades, it means I`m not focused on school and that means no more going out. D:

aww.. still vulnerable to be grounded .
You should like do poorly during junior years, then work really hard during gr 11 and 12. those are the important marks that will get you into university.

No, I'm pretty sure grade 9 is freshman, grade 10 is sophmore, grade 11 is junior, grade 12 is senior.

Good luck on it then ^ ^.
In what field of study? o;
Re: Anyone a Bio Genius?
My studies technically call Interaction design, but since they don't have a specific degree, so they just put us in Arts.
Internet is a good source of info if they are cited.
there so many truth to the internet and yet many fales. But yea, its not consider cheating.

Re: Anyone a Bio Genius?
Wow....didn't know they were teaching this stuff in high school.
If anyone is interested, the answer I believe is:
The reason why passive immunity gives immediate protection compared to active immunity, is exactly as the name implies. Passive means it is always there. Active immunity takes time to develop. Therefore, when the pathogen is seen, it is first engulfed by macrophages where it is then decomposed, and has some of its characteristics markers exposed on its surface. These markers are then recognized by B cells, which then either make antibodies or form memory B cells (ie. stored for long time use incase your body were to encounter this pathogen again). This type of immunity is known as Delayed Type Hypersensitivity (DTH) response. It usually takes on the order of 24 hr to develop.
Passive immunity on the other is actually the digestion/break down of the pathogen. It evolves, again, macrophages or the complement cascade, which involved recruiting various factors to aid in the break down of the pathogen, by physically binding to the pathogen and then prying open its cell wall and leaking its contents (ie. death). Passive immunity works by recognizing markers on the cell walls non-native to the human body. They are non-specific, while active immunity becomes specific after the formation of memory B cells.
Therefore, when you are born and your mother is being attacked by foreign pathogens, she develops resistance to them or not. However, the resistances that she DOES develop get passed onto you, because the placenta passes the placenta wall (ie. can get to you). Also, the consumption of breast milk does the same thing. Breast milk contains minute quantities of your mothers' immune system in it (ie. the memory B cells). Therefore, your body takes these and creates its own pathogen dictionary. However, there are the rare cases that you can actually have a reaction towards your mothers' immune cells, but this is rare. In that case, you will not develop the same immunity she possesses.
Lol, hopefully that explains everything if anyone was actually wondering what the answer was.

Re: Anyone a Bio Genius?
I am no Bio genius. I just took Bio 11 and 12 when I was in High school. So Syora's questions are nothing new to me. And I don't mind answering them.
I just want the guild to be helpful in every way possible. I can honestly say if she were to ask these question in guild chat or something, you would get the stupidest answer that you can possibly think of. You can ask her.
eg.
Question: What happens during human ventilation?
Answer from guild chat was: Breathing.......

dude...that answer....is.....so.........RIGHT!! heh. Makes sense...but not too indepth.
Well yeah...I probably overkilled on the answer to Syora's question. Not sure many of you might know what the complement cascade is -_-....

Re: Anyone a Bio Genius?
true.. the answer is correct. But with the course she is taking, it is save to assume that her teacher is asking for more than a single word answer. Like explain what are the processes that goes along with it, and how is the process achieved and completed.
Your answer wont be overkill
I mean syora will only use these answer as references or ideas. She is not gonna copy it right off. I hope.

lol, no I wasn't expecting her to copy it right off. Though I am surprised that I was able to pull that off from my memory.
Math is aight...but can't really talk about much...like what is 1+1?....then what?...you get a simple answer of 2. Not much to talk about
